@fpignanelli do you have high cholesterol or smoke? I am facing a bypass and am concerned about it failing due to the vein becoming blocked again, even though I have low cholesterol and I do not smoke, however I did but quit 15 years ago.

@kfpd I do not smoke but did have high cholesterol, which is controlled by Repatha. I have had 6 angioplasties to open arteries in my leg for PAD. The last procedure done recently included medicated balloons & stint.
Good luck to you.

@kfpd I am sort you are going through this. I was diagnosed about 18 months ago and had an angioplasty which was successful only to have the femoral artery blockage reoccur with a 100% blockage. I underwent second attempt to clear the blockage but the doctor was not successful in opening the artery. I am now working on a walking program, which does not seem to be helping much after almost 3 months of therapy. I need to make a decision on a 3rd attempt with an angioplasty going in through both the groin and the ankle in an attempt to meet in the middle and clear the blockage or, proceed with the bypass. Sorry this is so long but you seem to have been through this and I am really scared and not sure how to proceed. Looking for any advice or past experience with this. I was smoker but quit 15 years ago and apparently that was too late.
