First, thank you everyone, for your comments! I have been dealing with worsening idiopathic pneumonia since 2020, with docs only wanting to prescribe more pain medications with awful side effects. When I found this forum, it has been a huge help.
On the Bemer, it apparently is a PEMF device (google pemf) and one of many. I found this excellent web page comparing the Bemer to other such devices and have purchased a foot-sized mat for around $500 from Healthy Mat. I am also in the midst of a series of shockwave therapy treatments, which are improving the pain levels. Check this forum for shockwave and I will update results there when I finish the series - hopefully by the end of April. I have really high hopes that the combination of these two will get me back to long walks and sleep.
