@bonocon Very apt. It's the mind's self-training at work. As we age we learn stuff, we integrate it (if we have a modicum of intelligence), and we tend to put it to use each waking moment. The aged mind may be slow, but it's agile and has tons of experiential learning and information with which to solve problems. I think most of us find 'pondering' kinda fun, and we do more and more of it. We do it making coffee, sitting on the can, waiting at a traffic light...and before you know it it's lunch, or supper, or it's time to get to bed. 😀

@gloaming Thank you for putting words to this SEEMING waste of time. I do enjoy pondering - considering things from many different angles. More time passes than I realize, but much of my pondering includes purposefully sharing it with the Lord ~ time well spent and actually refreshing. It's definitely a perk to growing older (and living alone). Blessings to you! ~Barb

@gloaming Yes, I love just sitting and pondering. About anything and everything! And being bored is so nice now, plus it does seem to slow down time. After years and years of raising kids and going to work, days where I have nothing to do are a treat!!!:)
