I know what you’re going through. I am a 60 year old woman and I am scared. My symptoms came on suddenly. At home I kept falling all over the house because my legs and feet wouldn’t work. I couldn’t drive anywhere without the fear of falling or getting into an accident. I went to the gas station to fill a low tire. When the tire was full I capped the tire. I went to put the air hose back. I took a step back and I fell on my back and hit my head really hard. So I had my friend come get me and she took me to the emergency room, They ran bloodwork and lots of scans. They said they found nothing. And the bump on my scalp was as big as a baseball. As the days passed they transferred me to a nursing home. Now I’m freaking out. Why are doctors so clueless. I found a wealth of information on the internet. That’s how I ended up here. Feels like I’m on fire and someone is sticking pins and needles in my feet, lower legs, Wrists and hands. I wish someone would help me already!

Welcome @cindydom4865, Sorry to hear your balance symptoms came on so suddenly. My neuropathy and old age (82) contribute to my poor balance but I think the neuropathy probably more so. I have had some physical therapy to work on improving my balance but it's a daily struggle for me. I recently fell after stumbling in the kitchen and my glasses put a nice gash on the side of my forehead that bleed profusely. I also had to go to the ER to have a CT scan and MRI to make sure that I didn't have any internal head injury. I was able to go back home but it sounds like they want to make sure you are safe by sending you to a nursing home for rehabilitation while you recover.

Have you talked to the doctors about the pins and needles and other symptoms you are having?
