Hello Kay,
So sorry to hear you are going through this. I am going through something very similar. It’s very hard to find doctors to take you serious at a younger age. How did you end up finding a doctor? I’ve been researching doctors, but it seems like most of them deal with post menopausal women or older adults. While, I’m not as young as you. I was diagnosed at 44 with late stage osteoporosis, and have not been able to find a doctor to treat me. I was told to get a DEXA scan, by a random Dr in passing, when I was in my 30s and my doctors would not send me in for one because I had not broken a bone and they thought that I was just being paranoid. Finally at 44 I was able to advocate for myself and convince my Dr to order a scan. I was told I’m not old enough and my insurance will not cover it. Sure enough the scan came back and I was already in late stage. Now the problem is trying to find a doctor that deals with women that are not going through menopause. Any advice would be wonderful.
