Hello,
I have family related hi cholesterol too & was just diagnosed w/ myasthenia gravis. I am on simvastatin & Ezetimibe. I cannot get a straight answer from either my primary dr or neurologist whether to stop the statin & only tk Ezetimibe...my neuro NP said Ezetimibe does not work by itself to control cholesterol. Did you say you took Ezetimibe w/o a statin & if so, how did it work for you?
Im so 😕 confused

@mkk0124

Ezetimibe took me from 149 to 115 for my LDL.

My Doctors keep pushing me to take statins and I refused cuz it does exacerbate my PN caused by chemo . My cardiologist prescribed Zetia and cholesterol dropped from 329 to 266. I read that they keep adjusting those numbers so I’m very skeptical about all pills now.

👋
I do have terrible peripheral neuropathy, but it is d/t a very bad case of cervical & lumbar DDD.
Now, im suffering from severe neuropathy in my rt hip & down my leg...
MRI was not so gr8...L4-5 disc bulge w/ L5 nerve entrapment & severe cord compression so, btw the MG & DDD w/ herniation & nerve issues, i spend most of my days in bed or on sofa.. ive had much muscle wasting & am having trouble walking & I fall alot!
I live alone & have osteoporosis too...maybe I nd a Life Alert button!😢
Anyhow, for all those above reasons, I wanted to come off the statin...thank U for all of your helpful replies
