Neuropathy in Feet: B12 injections, PRP & Stem Cells?
I have neuropathy in both my feet. Pain, numbness, tingling and burning. I have a massager which has a vibration mode, I apply topical solutions at night, being night time is the worse. I also had a podiatrist give me a bunch B12 injections right in my feet. It's supposed to regenerate the nerves. Tomorrow I have a Dr's appointment and I want to ask him about PRP or Stem Cell Treatment. Has anyone had either one done, or know anyone who did?
Thank you in advance for whatever information you can share...

Yes, I have the same problem. The nerves in my feet are getting worse. One doctor actually performed surgery on the leg for the nerves. However it didn’t work so I’m stuck here with neuropathy of legs and feet. Yes I take Lyrica 3 times a day but it doesn’t help like I wanted to.
Totally agree with you. Nothing has been shown at this point to regenerate nerves. It’s sad some Dr’s prey on people’s hopes to push this stuff. I guess there’s always the possibility the placebo effect can work.
My new foot dr mentioned about giving me B12 shots in my feet but she wants to hear from my vascular dr because I have poor blood flow in my feet also.Has anyone heard of this being done?
@linmary358,
I combined your discussion with an existing discussion on foot neuropathy and different treatment options for it including b12 shots. @maddie2233 started the discussion:

Did the shots help? My podiatrist wants to start the shots.
I spent a few minutes trying to find scientific articles about B12 injections in the feet for PN. I couldn't find any. That doesn't mean they don't exist.
So, the following is just my opinion. It doesn't make sense to me that this should be effective.
Unless you have a problem absorbing B12, and thus a low B12 level (which can easily be checked) there is no need to take supplemental B12 in any form, much less direct injections into the feet.
Before getting these injections, you should check with a neurologist, or your family physician.
PN is a complicated and poorly understood disease. Some people are able to make money off it for that reason. Be careful and good luck.
Thanks for the info. I am continually looking for ways to get relief but like you said there is all kinds of folks trying to sell relief only helping their back pockets
@kreamks1
My wife has restless leg syndrome, which I understand is also a nerve malfunction. Even though her B12 level was in the lower end of normal her doctor prescribed B12 shots.
It didn’t cure her restless legs, but has made it significantly better (>50%)

Did the B12 injections in the feet help.
Thanks
