@cjboo
Dr. McClendon at the Phoenix Arizona Mayo Clinic performed surgery for my scoliosis. He is absolutely amazing. My back was fused from T 11 to L4. I am now 13 months postop and I’m doing very well. Three weeks ago my physical therapist started working on scar tissue along my incision site (that we didn’t know was there) and it has reduced my superficial nerve pain across my back by about 80%. @karenoharmon (hey Karen, wanted to update you on a different thread, but can’t find it so just want you to see this. How is it going with the nerve pain across your back? I can share more with you on my recent improvement!) I’m so excited and happy and really don’t have words for how much better I feel. It’s absolutely crazy how much pain can come from nerves that were affected by surgery. Mine are not the deeper nerves that go down my legs, it was a superficial numbness and tingling to where it hurt to touch my back. It’s almost gone now!!
I am extremely happy with my surgery and would do it again in a heartbeat. It’s a long process for healing when you have a lot of vertebrae involved.
Wishing you the best! Sherry

@sherrym25 please send me the deets! I go back to the surgeon this week. Are there things I should be asking or mentioning at this point? Please feel free to reach out to me personally as well by PM on this site.
Blessings to you!
