Was your TSH tested? I also have Hashimoto's and I am on Synthroid because my TSH is affected by Hashimotos'. If TSH is normal, then prescription Synthroid is probably not going to help. I don't know of any other meds for Hashimoto's since it is an autoimmune thing. Homeopathic remedies are out there, like selenium, zinc, but not sure there are any prescription drugs that can help besides replacing thyroid hormone with Synthroid or levothyroxine (generic Synhroid).
