"They are not traveling alone," because we - every beloved caregiver on this site - is traveling with them. We have the courage to face the day, the clarity to know what to do even when we don't know what to do, and God's powerful light to show us the way. Every day.
Thank you Georges wife for your "love" post and every reply.....I love all these posts.

...and we are all pilgrims (caregivers, people needing care, and forum members) traveling together.

The ligament tears in my thumbs, then the meniscus tear in my knee and even the two torn ligaments--and rash all over my face--did compel me to give up George and my pseudo-independence. Without the combined wisdom of all of you who have shared advice, I would not have been able to make the decision to get a full-time, live-in caregiver. (The on-going dialogue from ocdogmom has especially been helpful.)

Although family members--including our eight adult children--occasionally visit, their verbal support has not translated to ongoing, actual help. I finally heard it loud and clear: The calvary is not coming.; let go and let God (working through dedicated, professional caregivers).

Again, my heartfelt gratitude for your collective support.
