Mine was 17mm idc, deep, close to the chest. Surgeon elected to go in from under the breast so the scar is in the crease where breast meets the chest wall. Barely visible. I was lucky in that there was surgical path department so she was able to get additional tissue for clear margins in the initial surgery. While I was given Tylenol with codiene, I only used it for a couple days. Actually, the worst pain was where lymph nodes were removed in the armpit. Luckily that was only when extra pressure wrap was removed (to shower) and only for the first week or so. Did chemo and radiation. Currently, affected breast is slightly larger than other one (which is apparently a little weird, radiologist said they usually shrink a little after radiation) but otherwise nothing visible.
