Hi there I’m Krissy and I’ve had headaches since I was a child, I couldn’t describe how it looked to my mother and the doctor other than it looked glammory. I was a kid and of course they asked me what did I mean by that and if it was blurry. They couldn’t figure out what I meant and they sent me to the obvious answer and that was the optometrist. I never had a diagnosis and I lived with headaches my whole life. A couple of years ago I started having severe “headaches” that caused me to go to my doctor because it was so bad. She gave me a shot and prescribed sumatriptan which neither one helped. I’ve had MRI’s and tried countless medications to no avail. I’ve had my current one for about a month now and I haven’t gotten it to break even with a shot, which I knew wasn’t going to work but I am desperate because this one has made me have nausea and effected my walking, depth perception, I have even done the Celtic salt I am so desperate.

@krissyme - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Having headaches since childhood seems like a long time, regardless of your current adult age.

Also, experiencing a headache for a month that affects your depth perception and gives you nausea sounds awful.

You mentioned not having an official diagnosis. Have you been to a neurologist specializing in headache? If not, could you ask your primary care doctor for a referral to one?

@krissyme I started getting Botox every three months about a year ago for headaches. I don't have migraines but the he aches started getting less & less . They help a lot I still get headaches but usually once a day instead of three times a day. .I suggest you try it you have nothing to lose. I had no side affects from the Botox shots. Good luck.
