10 month follow up, second opinion Mayo Clinic orthopedics was excellent.
No further dislocations (of unknown etiology), after the two last spring.
Review of multiple xrays confirmed my dislocations are probably related to low back (relatively inflexible, stiff, DJD) which probably should have been considered in the original surgery. I will have some ongoing limits at extremes of motion; just because I can doesn't mean I should! Established medications to use occasionally, activity and weight lifting guidelines. Might jump in the ocean again. Hopefully avoiding THR of the other side, but may see Mayo Clinic again in a couple years.
Mayo Clinic personnel and clinical notes are a breath of fresh air; accurate, thorough, appropriate, reassuring, and comprehensive.
