@hanksgt I also had terrible GERD and was prescribed Omeprazole (Prilosec PPI). Yes it worked great but you need to do your due diligence. The list of prescription meds that it has reactions to is very long. More concerning to me is the strong but apparently unverifiable association with increased risk of Dementia if taken long term (>4yrs). I was alarmed by this so I stopped taking it -- I take Tums now when I need to and they work fine

@soor I have also read that Omerprazole may cause dementia so I only took it once when I lost my gut bacteria due to a course of antibiotics. My long term fix was to drink Kefir which is available in the yogurt section of most food stores. Did that for a month and the heartburn is GONE and that was 3 years ago!
I also have a warning for Tadalafil users. I have read it has a 17 hour half life in the body. If you take it every day you will have too much in you after a week or two. You should take it every other day and then skip a couple of days every 2 weeks to let it clear out.
More info:
Because of the long half-life of tadalafil compared to sildenafil, the proper dosing is more problematic.

Dose-Dependent Adverse Events of tadalafil:

Headache
Dyspepsia (indigestion)
Back pain
Myalgia (muscle pain)
These side effects tend to decrease in incidence with longer treatment duration
