Waiting was excruciating for us as well. I had a friend who is now free of her cancer tell me the waiting was the hardest part and that once you have a treatment plan you can begin moving forward.
My husband was diagnosed stage 4 at the beginning of January. PSA over 900, metastasis in the spine, pelvic lymph nodes - you get the idea.
He could barely walk from lower back and leg pain - a trip to the ER because of it led to the diagnosis (despite him having been to the GP over the course of more than a year because he didn’t feel well). Then the pain and she told him to take Tylenol. But I digress…
The way his GP delivered the news made us think there was no hope.
By mid January, he’d had appointments with the urologist and oncologist and while the diagnosis is bad and not curable, there are treatment options that can help extend life and minimize pain.
They started him on Orgovyx mid-January and a couple weeks later triple therapy. The difference is amazing. His PSA had dropped to just over 10 before he had his second chemo and his pain is almost gone. He is walking well again. The oncologists are pleased with the results so far. Four more chemo treatments to go.
It’s still stressful and emotional, and at the same time hopeful and encouraging now.
Be sure to take good care of yourself as you care for your husband. Wishing you the best.

I didn’t notice at that your original post was from March 2025, not 2026 when replying!
I now realize we’ve ‘met’ before.
I think I have brain fog myself
