I had a lumpectomy in 2022 for a small 4 mm tumor. I also had radiation. After treatment the surgical breast was a cup size smaller and unsymmetrical. Since my 36B breasts are not large, the lack of symmetry bothered me so I recently did a fat graft surgery to correct the lumpectomy breast. I was very happy with the outcome. I wish I would have done it sooner.
Depending on the size of your breasts, the lumpectomy may not be that noticeable. I would ask your surgeon about reconstruction if you are not happy with the results. No one mentioned it to me at the time of my lumpectomy and I didn’t know enough to ask.
