@mdm30 I'm very sorry to hear that you have had little improvement over the course of taking these medications.

Has your doctor investigated you for idiopathic hypercalciuria? You would have taken a 24-hour urine collection if this has been investigated.

The reason I ask is that I have very few contributing factors for osteoporosis in my lifestyle and have been on HRT since peri-menopause. My diet is optimal, I do resistance training, don't smoke or drink alcohol, am not underweight, and all blood work has been good.

However, my 24-hour urine calcium is very high (3 x normal). This is something I only discovered when my endocrinologist ordered the test nine months ago. Hypercalciuria can be genetic and can cause osteoporosis. I had no idea and have been treated for 12 years for this disease with no one ever bothering to check.

I am now on a daily diuretic to help lower my calcium loss from my kidneys.

Hope this might help.

@oopsiedaisy "I had no idea and have been treated for 12 years for this disease with no one ever bothering to check." FFS. I wish we could expect more of these doctors. Maybe this isn't malpractice but close enough.
