As a noted in my previous posts, I had the NASH Fibrosure test and it came back with F2 Fibrosis and "High" Steatosis. I was sent to have an MRI (without contrast) with elastography last week (finally). Just got the results, and they seem to be significantly different? I'm not sure how to interpret these, and the doc hasn't been in touch. It says my Steatosis is "Mild", calculated mean liver stiffness is 2.2 kPa which is "Normal" and LIC is "Normal." The only thing I did since the NASH is lose a few more pounds, took Milkthistle every day, and went back on my very, very low dose Lipitor. I don't know if that is the reason or not. However, based on my BMI, the SofC recommendation is to lose yet another 14 pounds to be in the range of acceptable body fat.

I hate taking statins, but my cholesterol went from 146 to 244 in the year that I went off them when I was dealing with the cancer. I also forgot to mention that I have been getting acupuncture for fatty liver twice a week since my Fibrosure test. I think it has helped; it certainly has not hurt.

@truthfinder I do not have any fatty liver symptoms that I am addressing with acupuncture. Occasionally, I have discomfort on my right side, but I also have a "giant" hiatal hernia. I did acupuncture because literature on the NIH library site indicated that it is helpful in combination with other things like weight loss, zero alcohol, etc etc. "Acupuncture has demonstrated safety and efficacy in the treatment of NAFLD, significantly improving hepatic function, lowering glucose and lipid levels, and mitigating liver fibrosis. Nevertheless, these findings necessitate validation through large-scale, rigorously designed randomized controlled trials."
So, I just wanted to mention that I included this in my regimen and maybe/could have contributed to the improvement (especially in the fibrosis numbers) from the Fibrosure test to the MRI with elastography.

Does anyone take rezdiffra and have bouts of nausea? How do you mitigate this?

@omemee - I wanted to let you know I moved your post on resmetirom (Rezdiffra) here to this existing discussion on this medication:

- Rezdiffra: Taken this med? Side effects? https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/rezdiffra-for-fatty-liver/

Hoping that members who were chatting here such as @truthfinder @njp515 @mayo99824 @dbamos1945 @carroljeffries @bevvon will share their experiences with this medication and any side effects they've had, such as nausea, especially. Maybe more importantly, hoping they will share any solutions they've found for managing side effects.

Are you experiencing nausea today, omemee? If so, has anything so far made you feel any better?

@lisalucier I eat smaller meals four times daily, and take rezdiffra with food.

Thank you so much. I haven't started it yet since CVS and Wellcare say my doctor needs to send in more information.

After asking CVS about "side effects" and being told the identical things written online on the medical sites, I got the CVS person to admit it can cause pancreas and gall bladder damage. So that is worrying....

@lisalucier Thank you very much. I do not have nausea every day. I think my taking it with food helps and healthy small meals 3/4 times a day.
