So sorry to hear you are not finding relief from depression with everything you have tried so far.
Personally I haven’t tried TMS, but I’m also interested.
Have you considered a different type of psychotherapy, or perhaps a different therapist? Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right fit.
If you have failed several antidepressants, perhaps you’re a candidate for ketamine. There are several different formulations, some that are more reliably covered by insurance. It may be worth talking with your psychiatrist. I know it’s not for everyone, but it’s helped me out a lot.
Best wishes to you on your journey towards better mental health.

Unfortunately I have 30 sessions of DTMS and I feel no better. Sometimes worse. Very disappointing

I've been dealing with clinical depression for more than 10 years now, to the point of being severely suicidal on a couple of occasions. After my first period of suicidal thoughts, I talked to my wife, and then to my doctor about it. He immediately changed my depression meds from one medication(I can't remember what it was) to the 2 that I'm currently taking, nortriptyline and duloxetine. My depression is still an issue, but not nearly as severe as it was before.
He also recommended talking to a therapist once a week to try and work out some of the things that I was dealing with, depression and chronic pain. I saw my therapist for several years, and after getting to a point that she thought was appropriate switched to every 2 weeks ,and eventually once a month. Now I only see her whenever I think I need to see her, but my last visit with her was a few months ago.
I'm not in any way "cured" of depression, it'll always be there as long as I'm dealing with my chronic pain, which I know for a fact will be there until the day that I die.

Hello my fellow human!

What I am going to say is Not about anti-depressants but what helps prevent depression. You may stop right now; Read on if still interested.

As someone who is very interested in depression -- why one isn't since the World health organisation defines it as "loss of pleasure or interest in activities for long periods of time."

That's strange -- after all we ALL are Born to seek "pleasure" and have "interest" in all kinds of activities. From seeking our mother's milk onward we soon started to crawl and move on four, and one day we were jumping and running and climbing. We did it for the Pleasure-of-it. This is just One pleasure, of the many you and I know of.

So the question really is: Why did we stop seeking what we are born-to-seek? Right?
I came in this world with very different environment but Exactly Similar to what you were Given at Birth, called innate predispositions.

In my hard life of over eight decades, I may have had more challenges than most but I never had depression. Even anxiety that would be warranted perhaps I avoided except once when I did end up in emergency but was able to recover On My Own even tho I was offered PT.
I am glad I did so because it solidified my belief in self-help. That was some 10 yrs ago. It's also known as CBT but essentially it's Thinking Clearly. Here's WHO:
"Depressive disorder (also known as depression) is a common mental disorder. It involves a depressed mood or loss of pleasure or interest in activities for long periods of time."

We're all here to help each other; I hope it works for you. Let's hear!
