Anyone had a spinal cord stimulator removal?

Has any one had serious muscle spasms of the back after SCS removal? I’m 3 weeks out from removal and having serious, painful muscle spasms up the left side of my spine where the wires were. If you have experienced this, how long did it last? It occurs after only 5 minutes of standing or walking. My only relief comes from icing and lying flat.

@calofmichigan I had my SCS removed almost two years ago because it had stopped working. Several months later I noticed an occasional twitching across my upper back that hadn't been there before. Not sure if this is the same as your experience. I don't feel pain, just the twitching.

I too, had the SCS removed 3/2025, and where the paddles were placed and removed, I experience pain and a dull with constant ache when standing for a time. Ibuprofen and resting off my feet helps, but I have a feeling this will not go away.

Has anyone had a good response from scs?

Here’s a good article: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12672166/
