So your aches aren't a result of statins then? Stop taking it for 2 weeks and see if the aching stops.

I would not stop statins without my cardiologist blessing...I thought stopping them was dangerous

Then go back to Atorvastatin if you are really sure that the new one is responsible for your pains. Is that a typical or uncommon side effect of Rosuvastatin? I'd a been in my doc's ear after a couple days.

1 ReactionHi - Rosuvastatin, especially at the higher doses, can cause muscle and body aches. Let your PCP or other physician know that you are having issues. Sometimes it does subside. Just like side effects from other meds. Let your doc know. You did not say what dose you are on.

Have you tried OTC statin or natural treatments? How high are your lipid levels--marginal or really high? I had some borderline high levels and refused statins (drugs) and tried garlic, red yeast rice and daily fiber treatment with OTC supplements. My levels came down 20% and have been in normal limits for several years! I refused big pharma and it works well for me. No side effects!

1 ReactionMy Doctor has had me on Prevastatin for year's and now I've got to the point where I've lost all of my music mass, I keep falling down and I'm 55 yrs old, my Pain Specialist told me to stop it immediately, so I have, I've been taking, potassium, magnesium and zinc and I feel a bit better off of it, when I fell, I had no strength in my body whatsoever to get up, before taking Prevastatin, I was on the coated fish oil pills, I'm tired of them pushing Big Pharma drugs and I'm a retired worker from 2 Medical Care office's

1 Reaction@15eastover A Cardiologist prescribed a statin drug for my cholesterol. One day I went to my primary Dr to have some blood work done and ask that they do a complete blood work, because I was not feeling well. So glad I did, when the results came back, my liver enzymes were so very high she hospitalized me. I spent 6 days in the hospital. I take a mediation now for my Cholesterol, but it does not have statin in it. Just be sure you have your liver enzymes checked fairly often.
