Prolia then Reclast
Hi, I have a quick question. I've been reading about people who had Prolia then transition to Reclast after they stop Prolia. My question is, why not just go on Reclast first? Why go on Prolia at all?

@joyceh2025 "Anabolic" meds for osteoporosis (from Google AI)
Anabolic agents for osteoporosis, such as
teriparatide, abaloparatide, and romosozumab, are specialized medications that build new bone by stimulating osteoblast activity, unlike bisphosphonates which only prevent breakdown. These, often daily or monthly injectable, agents are primarily for high-risk patients to rapidly increase bone density and reduce fracture risk.

3 Reactions@shmbrd Reclast (zoledronic acid) is an intravenous bisphosphonate administered yearly to strengthen bones and treat or prevent osteoporosis by inhibiting bone breakdown. It increases bone mineral density, reduces the risk of fractures—particularly in the hip and spine. I started this after Prolia which didn’t work for me. I had Evenity prior to Prolia.
