I haven’t been sleeping the best lately primarily due to hallucinatory dreams that bleed into reality.
I had a psychiatrist appointment today and he suggested and called in a prescription for Prazosin.
I told him I don’t want to take something that kills my brain’s natural way of expressing itself and processing things.
He said this is used a lot for treating PTSD patients who experience night terrors and these hallucinatory dreams that interfere with sleep pattern.
He knows my history and says he has seen this work well for others and to try it out if I want.
My dreams have been like acid trips; some good some bad,
like Alice in Wonderland last night.
Trippy stuff.
And I just don’t know about the medication ?

@craigbyrom I’m about a quarter through an incredibly helpful book written by a person with early onset Alz Dis. I highly recommend it. In the first chapter she covers sensory changes, including dreams like you are describing. the book is “What I Wish People Knew about Dementia from someone who knows” by Wendy Mitchell. Honestly, I can’t put the book down. Here’s a photo of part of the table of contents. It is so revealing and informative.
