I have a few hot flashes during the day but often wake up soaked. My oncologist believes it's the Anastrozole I take nightly. She's prescribed clonidine twice daily. It seems to help somewhat. I believe mine is from hormones. I'm 61 so you'd think I'd be done with all that-lol. There are other medications but they didn't mix well with what I'm currently on. Wishing you the best.🌷

Hi, I am 64, and have to sleep with an oversized towel on top of my sheets. I get severe night sweats. I mean, I am literally soaked. I am post menopause, but it's unbearable. My primary gave me Clonidine as well. But, my mistake is, I take it once a day instead of 2x. So, I will try to take it 2x and see if it helps.
I seem to get them when I am in deep REM sleep mostly. I can feel the sweat as I am dreaming, and it wakes me up, just to have to change my towel, and PJ'S. It's awful. I dread sleeping simply because of the night sweats.
I am severely handicapped and mostly bedridden. Too many spinal fusions. This last one completely reconstructed my entire spine. So, I stay in bed and walk around the house the best I can.
But even when I nap during the day, I get the sweats.
I need to get to an Endocronologist for hormone replacement. I had a full hysterectomy at age 41, and know I'm missing hormones that control that. Nowadays, hormone replacement has been confirmed to not cause cancer.
Good luck to you and all that suffer this awful condition.
