You are very lucky. I had horrible side effects from Lupron with 24 hour a day soaking sweats from head to toe, migraines, bone pain, joint pains, and hot flashes. The hot flashes were minor compared to the other side effects. It has taken 9 months for the side effects to taper off after just one 3-month Lupron shot. My PSA has been undetectable, but I do not credit the Lupron for the low numbers since all measurements were after stopping Lupron. Testosterone is just beginning to show some recovery, but I have no libido or erections for a year now. I have not talked to anyone who has had such severe side effects from Lupron.

That sounded awful. Sorry to hear it has been so bad for you. I started on Firmagon, which is two 120 injected doses in belly and then 80 dose every month in belly. Oncologist wanted to switch after one month to Lupron, thinking he was doing me a favor with fewer commutes, 3 hours one way. I told him “hey, I have not had any noticeable side effects other than the expected loss of libido. Let’s stick with what is working well for me” and I continued with Firmagon for five months total. Very happy to make a long drive if things work out. Firmagon did give me a pretty good injection site reaction that was painful for several days after each injection.
