I’m going through a similar situation following a blocked L max sinus. It took 9 months to get into surgery for a clean out. Surgeon told me he got everything, but I noted my sinus had a bad smell and I had thick yellow secretions. My pathology showed small amount pseudomonas. Md refused to give me antibiotics & told me to use saline rinses with medi bottle. That was 6 months ago and I’ve had 3 courses of 2 rounds of oral antibiotics and have been using saline rinses daily multiple times but this only slightly helped and infection is getting harder to treat. . MD told me i wasn’t under his insurance plan but he was the Md my primary Md sent me to see. Now I’m seeing that my red rash on nose is there all the time and surface of nose is looking dusky and looks like internal tissue inside my nose is dying! . I’m very concerned snd and am seeing another physician from the same ENT group tomorrow. If I do not get immediate treatment I will go the the nearest ER.

@merv1 I’m sorry to hear you are going through this situation with pseudomonas.

I think I’ve read that sinus surgery shouldn’t be considered unless it is a last resort. There are so many unfortunate stories from people who have really suffered after an ENT believed surgery was the answer. There is risk to every surgery but it sounds like yours was necessary.

I don’t have pseudomonas, only mild bronchiectasis with mucus, but I find using seawater nasal rinses twice daily, or more if I’ve been out to a location with lots of people helps relieve congestion. I use the full stream option.

Hope you find some relief soon.
