Blow to head and possible hematoma

I had fallen on a corner of an end table while on vacation. I did not seek medical attention. I went to bed (dumb thing to do) and thought, well, I woke up and all ok, despite black eyes, face and huge dent in head with blister full of blood. I was checking hemotomas and did not like what I read. I then asked Mayo as you did for advice 22 days later. I was told that you could still bleed with hematoma under the skull for up to 6 weeks or more and to get a scan done-which I did. All was ok, but I could have died. I hope you were given a scan of your brain and not just told you were ok. If not-GO AND GET ONE DONE NOW. I was thankful for their advice. I have always put everyone before myself and will never so that again. You come first, especially your health.

Hi, I am not sure if this discussion is still active, but I found it because I have a similar situation. I was in an accident and hit my head on the driver's side window. Like you i developed a hemotoma and a dent on my forehead, and woke up with black and blue eyes. Its been two weeks and I did go to urgent care, but they told me they didnt think I needed a scan because I didnt faint, or was dizzy, and no vomiting. Now Im wondering if I should just go amd get a CT scan done anyways, although it is healing and going down, and my bruised eyes are also getting better. Im also wondering about the dent, will it go away? Thank you for sharing your experience. Hopefully this discussion is still active and I will wait for a reply. 🙂
