Hello,
My name is Laura and I'm 45. On Monday May 8th I was helping my husband and friend unload a trailer of split wood, I stood up as my husband left go of his and it hit my temple. I couldn't see anything for about 15 to 20 mins, my husband did take me to the ER and they ran test and I have a real bad concussion with a hematoma. The swelling is gone but still have pain in my right side of jaw, and my temple hurts when I yuan and I have lots of pressure around my eyes and right ear. Is this normal or should I get a second opinion? I am being told its my PTSD.

If there is any concern with a head injury, it may be wise to seek a second opinion. The worst that can happen is they tell you the same, but if there is any concern there is a lingering issue, it would be wise to get it looked it.

Thank you Justin, I went to the ER and they did a CT scan it came back normal. But when they gave a cocktail a mixture of Tylenol Benadryl and else and made the pain worse. Then they gave me morphine, it put me to sleep but when I woke up my pain went from 10 to 3, they are telling me its silent headaches but I never heard of them lasting 24/7

Hi Laura: I concur with Justin. A second opinion sounds like an excellent idea. Sometimes a "brain-bleed" does not show up right away, however, by doing a new CT scan or MRI it might show up now. As you have an upcoming appointment this month, perhaps that test will be ordered. Best wishes! Teresa

Hi Laura Just wanted you to know you are in my prayers and wishing you God speed in your recovery.
