Following. RSR
13 mos ago and worse now than before surgery. PT insisted on increasingly rigorous motion, strength and ROM exercises despite increase in pain after each 45 min session. Back of arm now has what look like ‘chill blain’ sp? pattern .. 11 mo post-op visit surgeon declared loss of ROM not unique.. but NO EXPLANATION for the severe pain at top if shoulder. Just dismissed. I am furious and dint know next step! Cant continue with this pain.

I had severe pain at top of shoulder 9 months after surgery. Surgeon was completely uncaring but said " you can have CT if you want," so I did. Turns out I had a stress reaction in my shoulder bone where the muscle was stretched over the bone. In short, the bone nearly fractured. It's more common in women and in patients who take prednisone. A known side effect in 6 to 11 percent of female patients!! I was told to immobilize the arm and take Tylenol. After a week or two the pain was way down. Several months later I felt it start again. Back to the sling and Tylenol and it got better in a few days
