I had severe pain at top of shoulder 9 months after surgery. Surgeon was completely uncaring but said " you can have CT if you want," so I did. Turns out I had a stress reaction in my shoulder bone where the muscle was stretched over the bone. In short, the bone nearly fractured. It's more common in women and in patients who take prednisone. A known side effect in 6 to 11 percent of female patients!! I was told to immobilize the arm and take Tylenol. After a week or two the pain was way down. Several months later I felt it start again. Back to the sling and Tylenol and it got better in a few days
