@mrmacabre Good evening! My best advice is to Google "BEMER" as their explanation is spot on and it would take me from here to eternity to try to give you the same explanation. Personally, the optimum results would be to use (that is, sit on, the B-mat and use the B-pad and/or B-coil as directed by your doctor or therapist) twice a day. At about two years into its use, my therapist suggested increasing the strength of the program setting (moving it to at a higher setting than at the lowest where I had been using it) but the B-pad and B-coil were too strong for me at that setting. The B-mat didn't seem to matter. Interestingly, my therapist had also increased her setting accordingly and found the same result, and we both went back to the basic (first) setting. I don't know how she knew that the higher setting was wrong for her, but for me, I started to get a rash where I was using the B-pad and B-coil (lower limbs and shoulders and also around the front of my abdomen). Again, the B-mat was fine, and also the B-coil used on my wrists for carpel-tunnel yielded no adverse effects.
I have no idea if this is more info than you need, but the BEMER, in its very early life, was used for race horses, to alleviate conditions that could adversely affect their ability to run. I believe this is part of the background info on their website. My geriatric dog BEGS next to my BEMER for me to sit on it so he can plop on my lap and enjoy the effects on his arthritic body. A couple of years ago he was no longer able to jump up in my lap until we started using the B-mat, and now he again can do that during the daytime unti the evening when his body, like mine, seems to run out of steam. I like to think he sold me on the investment because animals don't lie, and he definitely exhibited improved mobility.
Like I said in a previous conversation, the BEMER does not alleviate balance or gait problems or even pain - but it gives me a sense of well-being and not defeat to be able to meet these other challenges head-on. It's hard to describe, but when nutrients and oxygen can reach all their intended passageways, your body is being nourished throughout. Probably it's easiest described as a tree that is leafing out. The leaves need to to be nourished all the way to the end of their branches (you don't see leaves growing from the trunk) in order to bud and blossom. It was a long description - thank you if you made it through and read the whole thing!
Blessings and Peace to you,
Barb
