I stood by my husband with his illness, because we had been married so long (58 years)and he had been a good man. Once he got sick he was very hard to live with and take care of. Any woman who marries a man a lot older than her (mine was my age and we married at 18 and 20) had better look forward to taking care of him. I thought I would have a stroke ,it was so hard.

@raebaby My husband and I both ill but still have sense of humour but spending far too much time together! 2nd marriage for me age 37 2 children, then, and he was 28.... 45 yrs together now. When we met I was deeply concerned about the far distant future and I would be a pensioner older than him.. which happened of course: but he has been supportive of me and I of him and also he has as many illnesses: Sometimes after bickering on and off during the day we look at each other and say: we deserve each other! But we will always, always love each other ... just sometimes we dont like each other! 🙂

@raebaby I’m now where you were. I had breast cancer and have reason to be concerned about recurrence. My husband has had Parkinson’s for about 10 years and is declining. I attend a PD support group but that’s not enough. Like you, I feel like I may have a stroke-so much pressure!
