@edeval4 ... ironically, I also recently suffered from a fall, and a broken right shoulder. I agree that it was...is awful! The fall was last November. Now, in March, I do not have complete range of motion. It still hurts. Your note gives me hope that continuing PT will allow me tp "heal beautifully"!
It is sobering that your neurosurgeons think that your husband's gamma ray treatment for meningioma may have caused his glioblastoma! I am scheduled for gamma ray surgery in April for a meningioma, which is pressing on my frontal lobe. Did the Neurosurgeons site other cases where a glioblastoma occurred following radiologic intervention? Or, were they just 'musing'?

@janeelaine The shoulder took a very long time to get full range of motion or at least 90%. I did take vitamin K and D3 during the healing and still do but not as frequently. They say K heals bones. It's only been 4 months healing for you. You have some time before you feel it improving. I practiced putting my arm up onto my steering wheel in my car and pushing the gear shift. It was so painful at 4 months but I was motivated to drive again. I would say at 8 months I felt like I could do so much more. Yes, unfortunately, two neurosurgeons from Weill Cornell NY Presbyterian in NYC said his glioblatoma was probably caused by the gamma ray. It is a side effect they told him but they were surprised that it grew so quickly in ten years. They said if it happens(doesn't always happen so have faith) you would see a glioblastoma over 15-20 years. Believe me, I really considered and weighed my options before radio surgery bc of what he went through but I am 69 now. I really didn't want to go through brain surgery. They felt confident enough bc its size is small that they could prevent it from growing anymore. I got more than one opinion from a neurosurgeon and they all felt the same way so I went with it. We have to pray to God that everything will be okay and just monitor it. My prayers go out to you that the gamma ray will be successful and you won't have to stress over this. I try not to think about it during the year, only when it's time for the MRI do I get anxious. We have to live the best lives we can in the meantime.
