My granddaughter was 25 when she was diagnosed with an ependymoma in 4/24. It was removed surgically. Had radiation.
She then got another tumor in early spring of 2025. Removed surgically and another course of radiation.
That fall her MRI showed another smaller one growing. Radiation and oral chemotherapy with 2 drugs.
She gets MRIs every other month because her second tumor wasn’t there one month but was already 3 cm 8 weeks later.
We’re grateful to have her with us but this is an exhausting process for her. She had started a new job and eventually had to leave. She’s receiving disability. Our family helps her financially.
They are in the midst of her second GoFundMe to help with living expenses.

@wisco50
I’m trying to find what causes ependymomas. Does anyone know?
please follow my 28 yr. old grandson, jordantrimble.substack.com AKA:Blankslate Endurance
He too, was dx with an ependymoma and now has MRI’s every four months.

Prayers for you, your granddaughter and family. Brain tumor was/is the scariest thing I’ve encountered and then how it changes your child or grandchild’s life. Our grands were dx about the same age, I would love to follow her.
Can you share your Go Fund Me page then I’ll share on FB?
