@mbadt So one doctor wanted to remove your thyroid and another one helped you get off the medications you were on and found that your thyroid was normal or fine?

What medications did they have you on and what and how did the doctor help you off of them?

MD said remove it. I did not agree so went to an Endocrinologist who agreed to try med first. He kept a good eye on my labs and adjusted my med as my numbers went down. Eventually they were good enough to try no med and I've been in remission since.

We tried propylthiouracil first but I was allergic (hives) so we switched to methimazole.
I am a true believer in anti thyroid meds as a first line approach. Had it not worked, I would have agreed to the surgery for sure.
