Stem Cell Therapy for Arthritic Knees
I am a 77 year old woman with arthritic knees where it's difficult for me to walk and I'm trying to avoid knee replacement. I have done the Synvisc injections and physical therapy-- to no avail. Is there anyone here who has had stem cell therapy for arthritic knees and I would like to know your outcome. I know there are two, one where bone marrow is removed and the other where they take fat from the abdomen and regenerate and inject into the knees. I would like to know the cost and how long the procedure takes and any other information which would be helpful to me. I live in North Jersey and am currently looking for clinics in my area who perform this procedure. I appreciate your help.

I was a runner when I was young and now I have no cartridge in my knees. Dr says full knee replacement!
I have had 3 DVT's (blood clots) and 2 other clots that made it to my lungs. (PE) The thought of having knee replacement surgery scares the heck out of me because of possible clots. I really don't want to die from a clot to fix my knees. What do you suggest?
Hello @petman56, you may notice that I merged your discussion with an existing discussion titled, "Stem cell therapy for arthritic knees." I moved it here so you could read through some of the other members' posts on stem cell treatments for arthritic knees. @petman56, did you discuss potential stem cell treatments with your provider?
For anyone in the Rochester Minnesota area, Mayo Clinic has a clinical trial that may be of interest to you if you meet the criteria. I'm too old at 75 ☺

I’m looking for someone that got stem cells on a torn rotator cuff
Could you give me more information about "baby stem cells" procedure that you had? I've heard of many people who have had bad results from knee replacement and, to be honest, I am scared to have it done at my age of 79. If you could tell me what you had to do about the procedure and where you had it done. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Did your insurance cover the costs ? If not may I ask what was the cost for stem cells for both of your knees?
fyi, if one Exercises (from PT) and walks and gets in great shape Prior to joint replacement - outcome will be best. Use of knee was great 1 day after surgery. Use of hip was great 1 day after surgery. Climbed down and up 1 full flight of stairs. If you are sedentary, not so much.
