Last year, my doctor prescribed 300mg of Gabapentin at night for another problem, and then I realized that my frequent nighttime leg cramps virtually disappeared. I still experience them every now and then, if I am too dehydrated, but rarely. My doctor concluded that my leg cramps were likely associated with restless leg syndrome. This may not help anyone else, but I continue to take the Gabapentin nightly.

@ckscoville I have been taking Gabapentin for 15 years. Presently, I am trying to wean down and hopefully off. I think it has affected my cognition. The weaning process is very unnerving. I haven't felt well for a month as I am on a lower dose. I had been taking a lot more than 300 mg per day. But please be careful and know that it can cause thinking issues. Roz
