My husband has had bladder cancer for 22 years. Each time it came back, more vicious than last. Since 3 years ago, we're on battle again and this time metastisized to abdomen and lymph nodes with guess hot spots on pet scan all over. Dr said do nothing 6 to 8 months or try a mixture of immune therapies and chemo. 2 to 4 years if those work. He's going to try and see, in meantime, we're devastated. I'm on here looking for answer's

@dhudson6 it must have been a horrible shock to get this news. I am so sorry for you both. Are you working with a large referral cancer center? Have you had a second opinion at all ? Has anyone suggested testing his tumor to see what may be most effective? I have metastatic squamous cell carcinoma ( for 13 years) and with my last met, testing was able to give better odds for the immunotherapy response. It has cleared my recurrence and so far so good. My husband has had highly aggressive bladder cancer and now lives with a neobladder but the fear of metastatic disease is always there. You are your own best advocate for your medical care so make sure that you have explored all options via referral and second opinions.
