I don't fully understand "partial" open heart surgery other than because of my age, the docs do have alternatives to fully open heart surgery. I live in a Chicago suburb and Northwestern Hospital, a top ten in the country, also has refused to operate on me if and when necessary! They apparently want to protect their morbidity stats as our ages do come into play. Suggest you consider contacting Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Kaprovanic 216-445-5932. His nurse Jean is very helpful as are everyone else involved. Best of luck.

@bobjoseph Thanks for the reply. Chicago was my home town as well. I think you are exactly correct about the morbidity stats and protecting their reputations. Otherwise, you would think that they would at least interview to determine the physical condition of individuals over 85. Some of us are in better shape than most youngsters in their seventies. A new cardiologist looked at me and said, "are you sure your 89?" and laughed. But, he is not a cardiothoracic surgeon. They only seem to hang out in hospitals which are more protective of their reputations. You nailed the "operative" phrase, "if and when necessary"; If I can get another 7/8 years without serious aneurysm problems, I will be very happy. Cleveland sounds good, when needed. Thanks again.
