@mkoch It is my understanding of Prolia and Reclast that it is the Prolia that builds the bone and Reclast that stabilizes you after stopping Prolia. I took Prolia for 5-6 years and now I am on Reclast.

@dna41: It is my understanding that Prolia more slows down bone breakdown and somehow that results, sometimes, in improved bone density. ( My spine numbers have improved after 5 years.) But, Reclast is much more effective at building up bone quickly. One of the reason we have DEXA scans every 2 years is to see if our scores are improving on whatever meds we are on. Perhaps your scores weren't improving enough and your doctor decided to switch to Reclast.
