How do you cope with the pain?
I am 57 years old, have led a highly active live with daily sports until a few years ago, when I started having pain in my left foot. I underwent several therapies including acupuncture trauma, which caused a nerve reaction. Since then, that was Sept 2023, I have not had a single day without pain.
I have been suffering pain in my feet, legs, hands and tongue for more than 3 years, moving up to my upper back now. After countless doctor consultations I have at last been diagnosed with SFN. Further blood testing is in process to find the cause and to explain the muscle pain. I have been told to contact a pain management center - have to wait 3 months for an appointment. My feet are chronically inflamed, extreme pain, as soon as I put weight on them, bone marrow edema up to the tibia, develeponig ostheoporosis.
In the past I have tried all sorts of pain meds, from OTCs to steroids to medicinal THC - nothing worked.
Pregabaline was a nightmare, no pain relief, weaning off it difficult.
Now I am supposed to try Gabapentin, but I am so tired and scared of trying yet another drug and having to endure the side effects on top of the pain.
The pain is eating me up. Only moments of laughter or crying for an hour in bed can sometimes give me relief.
How do you cope with chronic pain?
How do you keep up a positive attitude towards the future, knowing it will never get better?

1 ReactionI wish I had a cure for all our chronic pain sufferers. At times Magnilife tablets takes the edge off and helps me cope. They are homeopathic with no side effects.
anyone experienced benign lesions on femur?
I swear like a sailor in a storm. Not generally outloud and I use words I NEVER use in public. It helps me lower flareups and gives me a tiny feeling of control (sort of silly I know).

3 Reactions@kaki068 Metallica's early stuff is great, but not so much since the Black album IMO. The music that I've been listening to for the last 30 or so years blows anything they've ever done out of the water. Here's a short list of bands that I listen to to get me through the days if you're interested.
BEHEMOTH, INQUISITION, WATAIN, PATRIARKH, AKHLYS, BELPHEGOR, GRIMA, EMPEROR, IMMORTAL, and MARDUK.
Happy listening.

I 'm more like the person they called a witch, faith healer and a medicine manlike the Indian had. I don't prescribe anything I will tell you what I used and the results, I have have over the last 90 years as it started with my Great grandmother on down. years several people ask what I use. So here goes. First I don't know of any side effects except other than curing the problem not the symptom. And once in a while some one is allergies to different things the worst is Itch or headache. So you might try on under arm not pit the soft skin for reaction first.

I also use it to clean my counter top and remove ants. Brags put out a book on the many uses.
Aloe Vera liquid - best right from the plant but the Walmart works great. This plant is a natural healer and pain remover. If sun or burned it takes the pain away right now. I use it in cuts and wounds and they heel faster. Makes you look about 10 years younger. Some people doctors have prescribed to the to drink internally (without doctors orders use caution ) To help intestinal digestion.
I hope this answers some of your questions. And helps you along good day
I am 82 and have chronic back pain for 2 years. Using a cane for serious balance problems and have had to start using a rollator which does not make me happy. Had cervical neck surgery 4 months ago. Surgeon told me it may help with my severe dizziness (24/7 for 7 years) but would do nothing for back pain which is all arthritis. I take gabapentin which helps a little bit. Have tried everything (steroid shot, ablation, acupuncture, red light therapy, spinal decompression) to no avail. Finally after pleading with pain clinic, they let me try hydrocodone/acetaminophen (5-325 mg) one tablet per day which I split in two with 1/2 in morning and 1/2 at night. It definitely helps but wears off mid day . They will not let me have any more. They are super concerned about addiction.

2 Reactions@ichbindck it’s absolutely disgusting to me that we chronic pain sufferers have to literally beg for help. Do you think if the doctor or one of their family members were suffering with horrible pain that they would just let them suffer? It makes me so angry. Please see if there is a different pain management office you can schedule with. Talk to your primary care physician about it and have them help advocate for you. I’m currently in the process of discussing an intrathecal pain pump being implanted. Maybe this is something you could look into, as well. There are some pretty good YouTube videos that are helpful. Sending you hugs and best wishes. Schedule and appointment with your doctor right now!
