My oncologist automatically prescribed Anastrazole, but I did research and found that with my family and personal medical histories Tamoxifen was a better fit, so that’s what I’m taking.

@spud62 what about your family made it a better fit, if you do not mind sharing. I have health issues that make anything I do risky, so I am trying to figure out what is best to do.

@spud62 I had same experience! First oncologist recommended Anastrozole but I switched to a cancer center & new oncologist prescribed a half-dose (10 mg) of Tamoxifen for bone protection (I'm 72 & had already taken meds for osteoporosis). I felt better about this option. There's a real split among doctors regarding the hormone blockers. We each have ro advocate for ourselves!
