@calofmichigan “Rotating sites between thigh and abdomen.”

Can you share more about this, especially with regard to injecting in the thigh? Do you notice a difference in side effects by injecting in either place or are they still the same?

It’s great that you’re still building bone by administering this way! I would love to have this option, I really would. I’d feel so much better about taking it.

Wishing you strong and beautiful bones as you continue treatment! ✨

Yes! So about halfway up the thigh, on top, as with the abdomen, I swab it with an alcohol wipe VERY FIRMLY 8-10 times, grab a bunch of skin and fat between thumb and forefinger in that area and plunge the needle in while holding it. I do this so I don’t feel the injection. I have a very low tolerance for pain. I learned this in nursing so I could give a painless shot to people, especially children.

Sometimes I’ll hit a tiny blood vessel and it will bleed and bruise a little, but so what? It'll be gone by the next time you inject that site.

I haven’t noticed any side effects from giving the shot in any location. I do find the thigh is less painful than the abdomen.

My bone health professional doesn’t seem too concerned. The results are what matters, and mine are good. Ten months to go.

Best of luck!
