Pins and needles in feet at night
Just joined this group. At night I’ve started having pins and needles in my feet. Best thing has been soaking feet in cool water.
I had been doing stomping exercises to try to build bone due to osteoporosis. Also have started Teriparatide since January. Does anyone have any insight on this?

My PN started around 1999 and has progressively worsened over the years. I've tried many so-called remedies, most of which didn't help. Then, about 3 months ago, my Podiatrist recommended Alpha Lipoid Acid in tablet form. I bought the 'R' Alpha Lipoid Acid that is considerably more potent. In the evenings, while either reading or watching TV, my PN pain becomes quite painful, but I have been able to curb the pain at sleep time by doing the following: 600mg of R-Alpha Lipoid Acid one hour prior to bedtime, and at bedtime, I take 4mg of Rx Tizadine. (prescribed by my doctor at Mayo) I also use a PN cream (all seem to be about the same) on my toes. The Tizadine causes me to become sleepy about thirty minutes after taking it. 98% of the time, this is an effective remedy. However, on that very rare night, I have to take a low dose of Gabapentin that totally wipes me out and mitigates the pain. Also, during the day, I usually drink about 4 ounces of tart cherry juice. I DO NOT like using Gabapentine as I feel that it is harmful to my overall health, but according to my physician, a low dosage now and then is okay. I also walk at least 5,000 steps per day with a cane as support. This routine has been providing me with 7 to 8 hours of essential sleep. I hope this method is beneficial to others. As you well know, PN is a painful monster and there is no cure at present.

6 ReactionsMy doctor recommended ALA several months ago to go along with the 3600mg of gabapentin that I take daily for my nerve pain, and it does seem to help.
