Chronic pain in from osteoarthritis & stenosis

I'm 96.5 years old and in constant extreme pain. I have chronic pain in my lower back with osteoarthritis, stenosis, and degenerative disc disease. The only thing my Doctor says is to take Tylenol, which has no effect. I've asked for something stronger, but he doesn't believe in pain pills. I have been trying to find another Doctor, but so far no luck. It would be nice to be pain-free for my few final days. Any suggestions?

@wisco50 I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. Its a heck of a way to have to live. I dont think I would agree to surgery again either. I wish you well.

Just thinking - not sure where you live, facilities available to you, etc.
This may sound a bit odd but do you live in an area with hospice facilities or similar?
As a retired RN I am thinking if so, someone who works with them/for them may know the names of MDs being much more empathetic to your pain control needs.
You may have to get someone to advocate for you - younger relative, neighbor you trust, someone through church or other religious organizations.
Boy, if I lived near you I would offer to try to help. I agree, you should NOT have to be so miserable at such an age!

You need care. Dump that jerk of a doctor. Call a pain clinic, most of them manage pain meds. You'll probably need a referral. If on Medicare or Medicaid call them. Ask someone to help you. I am so sorry.

I've been reading about hemp gummies and hemp oils from believe it or not cheech and chong from the 1970S has a website we some detailed information on what Hemp Products help with sleep and pain...
I'm going to talk to a professional nurse practioner or my primary doctor first to see what the Doc says before investing money in buying cbd gummies or hemp;; I guess since I've heard from a lot of folks that they find the hemp gummies very helpful?? if you have any thoughts about hemp and gummies I am interested in knowing? thank you cathyz57

@cathyz57. CBD hemp oil under my tongue doesn't do much for me but I took a very minimal amount.
I live in Kansas & THC is illegal. The dispensaries are full of elderly buying THC gummies, etc.
