Just read this post. I am a bowel surgeon. Dealing with my own prostate cancer.
It sounds like you have a ventral hernia. It needs to be looked at since it is symptomatic.

I had ventral hernia repair done a few years prior to prostatectomy and the surgeon used the same incision to remove my prostate. The symptoms for the ventral hernia described here match my experience.
