Severe Ozempic Side Effects

Posted by labgirl @labgirl, Nov 16, 2023

I am new to taking ozempic and just started 5 days ago. The prescribed dose was 0.5 mg and I have been so sick ever since I injected that dose.
I'm experiencing nausea, dry heaves, and most unexpectedly, severe anxiety. I feel like I'd like to crawl out of my skin and can't wait till this drug clears my system. I can't eat, but I know it's not healthy to totally forgo essential certain vitamins and minerals. I snack on pretzels because they are bland and have salt.
Has anyone else had an extreme anxiety and sickness response to starting Ozempic?

@olson25 I am prone to major depressive and anxiety disorders. I've been taking Ozempic for a couple of months and cry all the time and am extremely anxious. My endocrinologist and my kidney doctor say it's not the Ozempic. I think it is, but it helped bring my A!C down dramatically after a low dose. I've read about the mental side effects but my doctors won't acknowledge them so I don't know what to do.

Started Ozempic, lost 10 lbs. Did not like the feeling past 1mg. Switched to Mounjaro, much better experience and further drop in weight. Total loss 30 lbs. On 12.5 mg currently.
For me, I had to be self aware of what I was eating, how much, when. I could not eat most comfort foods and daily I have nausea, and take pepto tablet. It helps a lot.
Have never vomited. I have to slow down, listen to my body.

Recently my endocrinologist removed Jardiance due to significant drop in A1C. Jardiance with Mounjaro and Tamoxifen for breast cancer treatment is a crazy cocktail.

My GP had me scheduled for Ozempic but had already started me on Metformin, then added Jardiance a couple of months ago. I was under threat of being prescribed Ozempic but lost 15 lbs (sadly muscle mass in-part because of 18 mos of the Lupron poison) and so he's holding off. I'm still at 185 and have about another 10 - 15 to go to make my bogey. Exercise folks, Exercise. Force yourself. I know its a lot when your Testosterone is drained and you feel 20 years older than you are. Thanks for the heads up on that drug and hope that you can shed the weight without it. I'm at a point that Big Pharma has more problems than positive results with what they're Selling.

It's a strange paradise of ours -- we have more to eat than we need but end up Eating MORE than we Need ... so much so that we invite our own Health problems?

Of course we all know what is good for health...from not smoking not drinking too much, to not gambling ... to doing physical activity, eating healthfully... and yet even as good reliable information is easier today to find than it has ever been, we make ignorant or unhealthy choices. WHY?

The answer to that what Plato had said long long ago: Part cannot be well unless Whole is well.
In other words, we'll keep falling short if we did not have our OVERALL life in order, parts will always be in disorder/dis-ease.

For our overall life what we need Our Bodies tell us as soon as we emerge from our mothers' bodies.
We did NOT sucked on milk on and on, nature made us have what we needed, No More. We slept what we Needed and woke up darting eyes listening to new sounds, played with whatever was around and one day, tried to stand up against the leg of a chair --- and soon we were running, climbing, jumping -- without ANYONE Telling us to be active!

A message above says: EXERCISE.. FORCE yourself... and yet we Never had to.
What happened? Looks like Plato was right. When the whole is well part would have a hard time getting Unwell.

I did not know it, most don't, but to get back to having Whole well we Won't be able to get just the Part well; we'll need to look at the Whole to START.

Seems my octogenarian years are fairly healthy because I follow Plato --- with no meds, rare GP visits, no tests (I check my heartbeat when I am up at 6th floor and keep walking huffing and puffing for some more floors and find out beats are about 120% higher than my normal -- just for the heck of it, my only test).

Life need not be too complicated to have to rely on healthcare to just grow reasonably healthy to live for what we each wants to do with theirs. I used it when I had a deep pet bite.
