I had my third colonoscopy (family history) in November. The experience was largely similar to earlier ones when healthy, with these exceptions: There is a list of medications and supplements that must be stopped for a certain number of days before the procedure. If these are ones that make you feel better, this is an issue. The all liquid diet during “Evacuation day” Is contrary to the otherwise high fiber, Anti-inflammatory diet I was on. Also, I found the “evacuation“ procedure to be extremely tiring. I suggest paying extra for the formula that requires less preparation liquid.
Despite this, let me encourage you to get the procedure As soon as you can anyway. Early identification can keep a moderate issue from becoming a life-threatening one. Colonoscopies can also address growths before they become cancerous, so it is also preventative

@debbiedsf There is only 1 prep that I know of in the Chicagoland area and it’s the gallon of stuff that you have to drink! I will do it with pleasure, as I had 18” of my colon removed due to severe diverticulitis from eating the wrong foods my entire life! I’m now back on track with healthy foods for my body and besides having Long Covid, my colon is just fine.
