I am sorry to hear you and your loved one are facing what many already are. And yes, whether it is one of the two drugs approved for trial or a different approach, everything has risk and the two of you need to be patient in evaluating those risks for yourselves - along with your Doctors. I hope you finish the diagnostic tests to understand the individual profile that might make certain options more risky.
Be cautious and patient before taking any direction. Every option has some risk and it can vary widely by individual. There are a few of us who have chosen lithium orotate. But it is not without risk and we do not know what benefit, if any, we can expect. And although my doctors are aware of my choice, they do not support it. And because we have no human trials to point to as the basis for defining expectations I am not recommending it, as I have no expertise or experience to make such a recommendation credible. I am giving it a run after doing extensive diagnostics and exploring other options just as you are now.

This disease isn’t terribly fast. So take your time with your exploration and decision process. It is very personal at the end of the day.

All my beat wishes for you both

@pb50 I appreciate your wisdom and reminders that we have time. Will definitely stay involved with providers too. When I went through a cancer challenge about 15 years ago, I chose a path of treatment that was not recommended to me by Oncology at a prestigious clinic. I didn't make the decision lightly; thankfully I was given 2 wonderful books as resources that were filled with testimonies of women who had shared their experiences and modalities of treatment and outcomes. Those were of invaluable help to me. And I realized only God knows all the days of my life as they are written in his Book of Life. I found my way through reading the Bible and the other resources. I am leaning on God to help me/us in this challenge too, whatever the outcome. I appreciate your vulnerability in sharing your story. And wish you all the best in your quest for good health too! ❤️
