@debhunter I hope you find answers in your 2nd opinion. It's a shame the surgeons won't tell patients up front about these problems. My fracture did not show up on an x-ray - I needed an MRI. It is nice to hear from others - hang in there!!

@jude1971 Yes it is good to hear from others. I am glad I learned from you that some fractures do not show up in xrays. I've just had the new xrays done on both shoulders, so I will make sure to follow up the causes of all the pain if nothing shows up. It only occurred to me yesterday that I never saw the xray reports myself requested by the surgeon. I will ask my GP to get them for me.
