What is the best way to taper off Klonopin?

You need to go off it VERY SLOWLY.
You cut your morning dose by 50%. That's far from slow. I took 18 mg and got off it in two years.
Perhaps if you increase the time between each cut.

@jakedduck1 I don’t know how old you are or who long you have been taking it along with your dosage.
As I said in my post I am closer to 75 than 74 and have taken 1mg in the morning and 1mg at night for over 30 years.
I don’t want to spend two years of hell getting off but even cutting my morning dose to .5mg with my regular 1mg at night had me climbing the walls.
Maybe someone has a better idea.
